From Museum Collection: Sound to See, Color to Hear
About the Exhibition
There are works of art that set out to express sound visually. Some of them present scenes of people playing instruments and dancing, others incorporate scores and musical symbols, while still others have titles suggestive of musical pieces. We can hear the sounds of rain and wind from paintings depicting nature, or the din of the city from urban portraits. In this exhibition, we invite viewers to enjoy a range of pictures whose colors and forms resonate off one another, bringing us sensations akin to hearing harmony and rhythm.
