This is the final lecture of “Beyond the Meiji 150 Years” series which started in 2018. The year 2018 is the 150th anniversary of the Meiji Restoration of 1868. On this occasion it might be remarkable for us to examine the meanings of the Meiji Restoration, the history of Modernization, and the problems of Modernism in Japan from various perspectives.
