Gift from Artists: Recent Acquisitions

12 August - 9 October 2006

Recently acquired works will be on display to show diverse developments in the post-war period, especially emphasizing on the fact that the museum collection has been nurtured through the understanding and cooperation of artists themselves. The exhibition centers around two and three dimensional works by 23 artists selected for their reflection on new ideas and movements, including leading artists such as KAWABATA Minoru and HORIUTI Masakazu. Most works had been donated directly by artists, making them a true "gift from artists" and also a generous message from the artists to those who visit the museum.
