Project for Children in Museum

31 May - 31 August 2008

The Museum of Modern Art, KAMAKURA is situated in the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu premises by the waterside of the lotus pond. In the summer, the lotus blooms and the reflection of light from the water surface illuminates the wall of the museum creating a tranquil atmosphere. For this summer exhibition, the museum exposes paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and sound emitting works that will enlarge the imagination in concert with the scenery of the pond. We hope the appreciation of the artwork together with the surrounding scenery will serve to rediscover the "pleasure of seeing". The pocket sized picture book given out free inside the building should help you enjoy your visit to the museum.

5 workshops have been organized around the theme of "lotus pond" during the exhibition period, featuring specialists from various fields (painter, compositor, writer, etc.). Each workshop is limited to 20 people. We eagerly await your enrollment.
