Train station: Kamakura (JR Yokosuka Line and Enoden Line). Walk in the direction of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and Kitakamakura (about 15 minutes). The Annex is located 5 minutes-walk away from The Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura.

The Genealogy of Fantasy
From Goya to Klinger



January 24 - March 22, 2015



The French Revolution caused changes in the conventional values and artists who headed towards an imaginary world of their own appeared. Frenzy for fantasy or the invisible was passed on from Goya to the Romanticists and the Symbolists, such as Delacroix, Redon, and Klinger. The flow of fantastic art is introduced from our collection of late eighteenth to late nineteenth century Western prints.
