Isamu WAKABAYASHI : Flying Leaves and Oscillation

August 15 - December 23, 2015

From the 1980s onwards, by incorporating elements of the external environment such as air, water, plants, light, and time into his sculptures, the sculptor Isamu WAKABAYASHI (1936-2003) developed gardens of his own. With “garden” as the key, Wakabayashi’s oeuvre, which culminated in the series of sculptures entitled Flying Leaves and Oscillation in his later years, is surveyed through relevant sculptures, models, drawings, photographs, and other materials.
