In Praise of Sunlight:
Koichi TANIKAWA and Chizuru MIYASAKO

October 22, 2016 - January 15, 2017



An exhibition featuring two artists, Koichi Tanikawa (b. 1938), who has been active as an artist and art critic from the 1960s, and his wife, Chizuru Miyasako (1947-2008), who is known as an artist and essayist. Together with a choice selection of existing works such as paintings full of bright colors and objects based on the themes of their daily life at their studio in Izu Kogen, their views of nature, and yearnings for native cultures, the latest works by Tanikawa will be presented at our museum in Hayama facing the sea and flooded with sunlight.

  • The exhibition ticket of "In Praise of Sunlight: Koichi Tanikawa and Chizuru Miyasako" also entitles entry to "Museum Collection 2" for the day of purchase.
  • "Family Communication Day" - reduced entry for all family members (except for 65 and over) accompanied by a child under 18 on the first Sunday of every month (November 6, December 4).
  • Free admission day : November 3 (Cultural Day / Japanese National Holiday)
