Seeking for Utopia: Russian Avant-garde and Soviet Modernism Seen in Posters

October 26, 2013 - January 26, 2014



From renowned collection of fashion designer Ruki Matsumoto, presented here are approximately 180 posters by Malevich, Rodchenko, the Stenberg brothers, and others including many works which have never been shown in public. This exhibition introduces the initial stage of modern design in the former Soviet Union from around the October Revolution to the 1930s, when the people sought utopias.

Opening ceremony will be held at the entrance hall. Anyone is welcome to participate it. In this occasion, the exhibition curator will talk about this exhibition in the gallery. (Only available in Japanese)
