Open-air Sculpture “Molding from the Earth”

Mr. Masaki Nishi, sculptor, came to The Museum of Modern Art, Hayama to finish his work “Molding from the Earth” (2003) on May 29, 2003.

This installation was created specially for the museum and set in its garden. It consists of four concrete boats, molded from the fishing boats that were used in Hayama area, and the hut, reuse of a part of Prince Takamatsu’s seaside villa (now the museum stands on this location).

This work can be accessed free when the museum opens.
