About the Exhibition

One of the most highly esteemed designers in Finland, Kaj Franck has been called “the good conscience of Finnish design” for bringing into the world a range of everyday items rich with functional beauty. This exhibition, his first major solo show in Japan, will display around 300 of his key works with the intention of building up a complete picture of Franck as a designer. We will also be displaying photographs Franck took himself during a visit to Japan in the 1950s and other materials that will shine a light on the intrigue he felt towards Japan.
