About the Exhibition

The photographer KON Michiko (b. 1955) creates visionary images by means of unique concepts and methods in which everyday materials such as fish, vegetables, shoes, and hats are curiously combined and printed on photographic paper. Her worldview rich in detailed composition and poetic evocation has been highly acclaimed in Japan and abroad including The 16th Kimura Ihei Photography Award (1991). This is the first solo exhibition of Kon’s works to be held in a Japanese art museum and it traces the career of this photographer who has been workng based in Kamakura for forty years.

Admissions: Adults: 700 yen
Under 20 or Students: 550 yen
65 and over: 350 yen
High School Students: 100 yen
Junior High School Students and under 16: Free
* A person with disabilities and one accompanying caretaker are admitted free of charge upon presenting Disabled Person's Handbook or an equivalent government-issued identification. * "Family Communication Day" offers a discount for all group (except those 65 or over) accompanying children under 18 on the first Sunday of every month. * For more infomation, see Concessions & Free Admission.
