Train station: Kamakura (JR Yokosuka Line and Enoden Line). Walk in the direction of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and Kitakamakura (about 15 minutes). Or take Enoden Bus from bus stop No.2 at the East side (Higashi-guchi) of Kamakura Station (5 minutes-ride on buses to Ofuna Station, Kamiooka Station or Hongodai Station) and get off at Hachimangu-ura. 2 minutes-walk from the bus stop.

Renovation of The Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura Annex

September 4, 2017 - September 2019

It is thirty-three years since The Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura Annex (Architect: OTAKA Masato) opened in 1984.The Kamakura Annex is closed for a while with the aim of replenishing the Museum's facilities and activities.
    While the Kamakura Annex is closed, in addition to the exhibitions held in The Museum of Modern Art, Hayama, activities will continue to be carried out beyond the museum.
    We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of the Kamakura Annex and hope you will look forward to its renewal scheduled in October 2019.

The Sculpture Garden is open to the public until November 5, 2017 except for Mondays.

Opening hours: 9:30-17:00

  • The museum building is closed.
  • Toilet, coin locker, and museum shop are not be available due to closure of the building.
  • The stamp for stamp rally of "Museum-meguri" (a round of visits to the museums in Kamakura-Komachi area) is placed at the front of the ticket office from September 5 to November 5, 2017. We are sorry but the premiums for "Museum-meguri" are not given at the Kamakura Annex from September 4, 2017.
