In Praise of Sunlight: Koichi Tanikawa and Chizuru Miyasako
[Gallery 3] Museum Collection 2: Light in This Space/ Special Feature: Shinpei Sakakura

An exhibition featuring two artists, Koichi Tanikawa and his wife, Chizuru Miyasako will be presented at the Gallery 1 & 2, with a selection of paintings full of bright colors and objects based on the themes of their daily life. At the Gallery 3, our collection of paintings and sculptures dating from the 1960s onwards, will be displayed with light as the theme.

The Origin of His Creativity

Shunsuke Matsumoto (1912-1948), one of the leading artists of Japanese modern art. Early on in his career, he devoted himself to works by Rouault, Modigliani, Grosz, Fujita, and others. In this exhibition, we shall examine what Matsumoto absorbed from such works and how he developed them into his own expressions in search of the origin of his creativity.
