Max Klinger: The 160th Anniversary of His Birth

Max Klinger (1857-1920), a sculptor, painter, and print artist active in Germany, who are regarded heralds of Surrealism marked by both detailed realism and fantasy. An exhibition of prints is held to mark the 160th anniversary of Klinger’s birth. At the gallery 3, works and materials from our collection examines the situation around 1937, a turning point in avant-garde art.
