While studying aesthetics and art history at Kyoto University, SUDA Kunitaro(1891-1961) also studied drawing at Kansai Bijutsuin. He then went to study in Spain, where he did research on the color theory of the Venetian School and the chiaroscuro in Baroque paintings.
